You must clear memory before you use the ER-650 for the first time or after additional memory has been added.
- Turn the power switch located on the right side of the register to the OFF position.
- Turn the control lock to the SM position.
- Press and hold the key position where the CHECK key is located on the default keyboard layout.
- Continue to hold the CHECK key while turning the power switch to the ON position. The message: “RAM ALL CLEAR SERV.” displays on the screen.
- Press the upper left key of the keyboard, then the lower left key, then the upper right key, and finally press the lower right key.
- The display will monitor the memory clear process, which takes about 1 minute. When complete, the printer will print the message: “RAM ALL CLEAR OK !” The SERVICE MODE menu will display.
